WHY WE LOVE THE TREE SWALLOW

The tree swallow is certainly our favourite of them all.

Why? It is the best known of all the swallows in Quebec. Whatever town you live in, there are tree swallows in the sky. You only have to offer them a small nest box for them to settle in. They court each other briefly, conveniently right before our eyes, and then they happily move into the home you have provided.

Have you ever known the joy that comes with the return of the tree swallow in the spring? All those happy calls filling the yard are absolutely indescribable. They often arrive several at a time, as if to celebrate the reunion and, no doubt, the spring.

Do not wait too long to put the nest box out; their joy will only be the greater for it.
